Word for the Day

29 Friday 3rd week of Lent

If we realize that God exists, we cannot help but worship him, at times in quiet wonder, praise and song. (Gaudete et exsultate 155).

Mark 12:28-34
`The most important one’ answered Jesus,’is this: “Hear 0 Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’“

Perhaps you could take some time to examine the Scriptures from this point of view (God’s love). You will soon discover the exhilarating preaching and good news of our Lord. He never tires to impressing on his followers that God, on account of his profound fatherliness, cares not just for the world in general, not just for a certain people, but for each individual person.  Our Lord often emphasises that God the Father is concerned about each individual, as well as the tiniest detail. This is a fundamental truth. (Retreat 1937 – JK)
