14 April Palm Sunday
We need to remember that contemplation of the face of Jesus, died and risen, restores our humanity even when it has been broken by the troubles of this life or marred by sin (Gaudete et exsultate 151).
Luke 22:14 – 23:56
`This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’
Think of how people dishonoured him! Judas sold him for thirty pieces of silver, which at that time was the price of a cow. Herod treated him like a fool. Pilate compared him with Barabbas. Finally he was given the despised cross, which he had to drag like the worst criminal up to Calvary. … We are gripped by all these proofs of God’s love for us and do not tire of repeating with the Apostle Paul: “He loved me and gave himself up for me.” (Everyday Sanctity – JK)
